Forever Costa Rica Association and the National parks
During
2010-2013, Forever Costa Rica has supported the updating of the management
plans for Carara and Manuel Antonio national parks, with an investment of US
$71.200. These management plans seek the fulfilment of the conservation objectives
of protected areas, with the definition of strategies, goals and activities
that guide the mechanisms and interventions to guarantee an effective
management of the parks in the next five years.
Additionally, since 2010, the Association has promoted the implementation of a monitoring tool to measure the effectiveness of management in both protected areas that has helped to build a baseline of the management status in these areas. This allows Forever Costa Rica to elaborate an investment strategy based on the management plans, together with the Protected Areas System (SINAC), aimed at improving the biodiversity conservation of both National Parks.
